Kathryn Simmonds


Kathryn Simmonds was born in Hertfordshire in 1972 and worked in publishing before taking an MA in Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia. She published a poetry pamphlet in 2004 and her first full collection Sunday at the Skin Launderette won the Forward Prize for best first collection in 2008 and was short listed for the Costa Poetry Award. Her short stories have been published in magazines and broadcast on BBC Radio 4. She lives in London with her husband and young daughter.
